Bryce Gilmore's Day Trading
E-Mini S&P Futures & Stock Index
Futures Course

A Specific instruction with Examples for S&P Emini Intra-day Traders

This perhaps will be remembered as the best of my books in so far as it offers the reader a specific instruction to follow to intra-day trade in a market which offers unrestricted profits.

After completing the TWAE book I felt there was still something important left to teach before I retired from writing. I have been over and over the contents of this book to make sure I have it presented in a way even a rank novice can understand.

In the process of writing this manual over an 9 month period I had completed 3 drafts before I finally decided it is ready to publish - the drafts were mostly written in real time and explain the approaches, the tools, the signals, the SIGNS this market makes that allow you to take LOW RISK trading entries and WIN.

With the help of my students from Club 144 I have addressed every important issue as it applies to preparing for the day ahead and then actually facing the day in hand.

During the writing period I also refined the tools in my own program WaveTrader to make the intra-day analysis less complicated. This manual is about using finely honed tools of pattern and ratio analysis of price on a day to day and minute to minute basis for actually understanding where the intraday trends will expire and resume.

TTW is for traders who wish to embark on an occupation  trading intra-day markets. It is not designed or written for people who want to trade from an arm chair.

This manual is for the people who want to pit their trading skills against the World's best - in an electrifying environment where unlimited profits are available.

TTW offers the student a cohesive plan of approach to trading the EMini and instructs the student in a methodology that will allow the plan to be put into practice.

Over the years I have proven to even the most professional of traders that there is still many things they need to learn - these things are all included in this manual.

Successful trading practice revolves around identifying technical market SUPPORT & RESISTANCE levels that fit with the daily market flow and mood. This book will teach you how to follow the market mood and identify these important points where low risk trades can be initiated. This book will teach you how to trade with 6 tick and less stop losses on the E-Mini. You can scalp trade or let your profits run. The secret to successful trading is knowing when to trade not just trading for tradings sake. It is easier to pick up 5+ points on 10 contracts than it is to make 40/50 points on one contract and sometimes it only takes minutes. Some days you can do it 3 or four times. With intra-day margin available so cheaply, leverage is the way to go. This book will instruct you how to do it. This book is only for people who want to control their own destiny.

Trading to WIN

Forward:

What is in store for you with this manual is an approach on reducing the market structure into a simplified form. A form that will train you to read the future predictability of where the market price, most likely, will go next.

Trading to WIN is a my guide primarily for the professional day trader, who wishes to trade the S&P E-Mini electronically acting as his own broker; although the same principles will apply to all other markets, swiftness of execution is paramount to making a success of trading.

Trading to WIN is about identifying the many opportunities you have to enter the market at the most opportune time and teaching you to trade with limited risk.

Before I go on it is important for me to tell you that the general success rate for futures traders is about 10% of the pool. This means that 90% who step up to the plate will normally lose their money.  And they will keep losing it until they can understand what they are dealing with. There are lots of reasons for this but as I said it is a general statistic. The odds can be turned in your favour if you apply discipline to your entries and the same discipline to your exits. If you refuse to execute when the odds are with you then you will destroy all the advantages of the methods I will teach you in this manual.

There is only one way to make money in the market consistently in my opinion.

1. You take a position at the most opportune time.
2. You hold on only if it stays in a profitable state.
3. You get out with your profits when the move stagnates or reverses.
4. You start from step 1 and try over again.

This is a pretty simple plan and you don’t need to have an IQ of a Mensa member to do it.

Every market provides signs of what it is about to do next. Some “signs” come faster than others but when you combine all the “signs” in a professional manner you become adaptable to play the odds. Think of the market as a high stakes game and you are going to be the best player; look at it any other way and you may as well just forget it.

The first step is to teach you to only hold positions that are in profit. Everything else must be discarded immediately – no compromises – they must go. It does not matter if they may come good later – that is not the point. The point to successful trading is to never hold onto a loser. Only professional traders understand this rule. It is just as easy to enter a position as it is to exit it.  Opportunities always come along like trains to a station.

You cannot become a professional winner until you learn to stop the bleeding that consumes the profits, profits can be made at least 50% of the time and if they exceed the losses by only a margin of 3-1 you become extremely profitable.

I have been around traders for well over 20 years and the biggest losers I have ever met are people who refused to close a losing position. If they had just closed out at the first decision point they would never have gone broke.

If you are prepared to wait for the right market conditions you will be able to trade with very tight stop losses, if you are wrong, all you have paid for is the opportunity.

Trading to WIN explains in fine detail how to take advantage of the market patterns and the geometric ratios in price movement used by sophisticated professionals, “the smart money”, the world over.

Speculation is a sophisticated occupation with the computer power, speed of communication and news services available to us today.

I have written this book for my students so they will have a permanent reference to the methodologies I have been teaching them all these years. Now I am free to retire, there is nothing more I need say about the things I have learnt over the past 22 years.

On a closing note let me just say to you, a little over 22 years ago when I started to delve into Technical Analysis methods the path at first seemed complicated and confusing; now it is as clear as the nose on my face.

It took me several years to unravel the “mysteries” into something I could work with. I became so fascinated by the behavioural patterns of the market place I began writing books about it. As time has passed I have grown with the changes in communication, the booms and busts we have experienced over that time. Over the years my trading time frame has reduced itself to intra-day – now I would never dream of holding a position over night; although I do not say you should follow my practice, I just find it makes my life so much easier not having an open position, when I can’t be there to watch what is going on.

I have enjoyed teaching and writing all the books along the way, they have helped me cement in my own mind the things I need to view as important and continue to practice. Nevertheless this will be my last book on the subject.

I have now covered everything I find of use to beat the market, my wish is that you will do the same using the information I have provided.

FAQs

Question>> Is there any support for the course? Is there someone there that  will answer questions while I'm going through it?

Yes there are three levels of support:

1. From Bryce Gilmore and David Hunt via email and phone and in person

2. Ownership of Trading to Win gives you Free Membership of WaveTraders

Answer>> WaveTraders is a e-mail group open to owners of either DTPAMT or TTW. There are some very good students and a high level of contribution in that room. There are often fellow students around to help within a short while of your email.

Student Answer>> I was not in Club 144 when it started 2 years ago but I have joined them 2 weeks ago
And I am also in the TTW especially for people who trades Emini S&P500 which I had just joined them as well,
but this room requires joining fees." D.C. Student  Email us for more info>>.
>
Student Answer>> "If you are serious, there is another new room which he has just set-up for
TTW, purely for Emini S&P 500 traders to share idea and based on what Bryce had taught in his books.
There is a fee require to join this new room. Again check with David Hunt. You may also go to
his web site at http://www.wavetrader.com/ you will get more detailed information via email>>.

Question>>  Is the software necessary to use Bryce's methods? I like
> TradeStation 2000i and would like to continue using that if possible.

Student Answer>> "Bryce's CycleTrader is fantastic and is good for analyzing TIME & PRICE. I
don't think other software can match CycleTrader. For intra-day trading,
most of us are using QCharts live data feed which is rather not expensive.
It cost about US$90.00 per month. We also export the data from QCharts to
CycleTrader for his specially created XABC routine and others." D.C. WaveTrader Owner since 1998
>
Question>> Since he's written several books, would I get all the info I need from Trading to Win or would
I need to purchase some or all of his other books?

Student Answer>> "My suggestion is that you get yourself 3 of his books. This is if you are
serious about Time and Price technical analysis. They are Dynamic Time &
Price Analysis, Trading with an Edge and the latest Trading to WIN. I just
got mine (TTW) last week. I can say it is the finest book that I have so
far. In fact I have all his books (5 books) and also his software." D.C.

Memos from my students:

A favourite saying of mine:
"Those who want to be successful will find a way, those that don't will find an excuse"!

Club144 has been running for over 25 months and I have developed some keen students – by the time this book is published I will leave this education center more for my students – nevertheless they are an honest recommendation for the principles I teach. I have put a lot of effort into teaching these guys. They are the reason I have written this last book.

So now let’s see what they have to say…………………………

This came in from a person I have only met recently but when I did I recognised he was a trader straight away. He had already figured the plot because he already knew how to contain risk. I felt like I had met a new friend when I met Steve.

Bryce,

First off, let me say I wish I met you 20 years earlier. As I told you when I first met you 6 months ago, I have been trading and in the industry for the last 20 years. I have been on a quest to perfect my trading skills, buying books on trading, going to trading seminars and seeking out a personal mentor that fit my needs. Until I met you my appetite was not filled. I have on a regular basis thanked you for sharing your knowledge of the markets you have. To put it in a nutshell I have learned more from you in past 6 months than my past 20 years of studying the markets from all those books, seminars and other so called guru's.

You are the best! Thankyou for sharing and bringing out the best in me.

Steve Rifkin

Out of all the people I have met in the past 5 years Steve is the best I have come across so much so I am going to do a full scale real time trading seminar with him sometime in the future.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is from a long-term friend.

During my forty years of trading I was fortunate to meet many market wizards and famous traders. My studies enabled me to amass a huge library of market related material.

In 1988 I met Bryce Gilmore and in one hour I learned more from him than most of the books on my book shelf in total.

Bryce truly made me a better trader from that first meeting and I've continued to learn from him over the years. The market technicians association should erect a statue in his honour!

This one is from a student I think is getting to know the market as well as I do, Sandy is a professional  and drives a 5000hp Tug boat for a living right now. In his time off he trades the E-Mini successfully now I might add.

Although I may not be as experienced as some of the major traders who endorse this latest book by Bryce Gilmore, I am forever grateful for having met him and privileged to have been tutored by him.

From what I have found, in the business of trading, it is half the battle to find somebody who will teach you the truth, before you can hope to be successful at using it to win.

Bryce is such a man, and I would encourage anybody with an interest in making profits from trading commodities and stocks to study this and other books by him so they too can use the truth to advantage.

I believe Bryce's books, and in particular this one, are the closest thing you can find to the mythical Holy Grail of trading strategies.

I can rest and be assured I have been given the knowledge to win trading the markets when and if I choose.

Thank you Bryce.

Now here is one I particularly like.  Steve is a tough guy who works for the customs on patrol boats at times. He won’t take any shit from anyone the same as I won’t. He is now trading profitably.

Having studied Bryce's techniques, the turnaround in my trading has amazed me.  I was about to give trading away until I was introduced to Bryce's methods and advice.

He has a switched on analyst's mind, together with a rare trading talent.  Not only that, he is a brilliant teacher and you can watch him trade the markets in real time, which makes all the difference in terms of credibility and a realistic view of this career choice.

His passion for the markets has definitely rubbed off on me.

I don’t hear from Claude very often but I know he watches everything I say and do this is what he says…

Bryce,
I started studying the stock and commodity markets in 1965. Went the usual route of Gann, Elliott, and others. When the Apple Computer came out I used it with 5 minute charts to study patterns in the market with the idea big money could not move without leaving tracks. Worked out a lot of the math with a calculator. Then somehow I ran into Scott and thru him to you. Using the ratios in a more expanded way gave a better picture of where to expect to enter, together with the patterns of my own gave me the edge. Your methods of close stops, going with the flow, and especially taking out small bites at a time has added to my success as a trader.
Your comments to Club 144 as the market unfolds allows one to learn a philosophy of trading that contains risk and protects capital.

Thanks for your time and effort.

Now this is encouraging…

Bryce,

I found your old Wave Trader site by chance back in late 1999 and attended my first seminar on the Gold Coast in June 2000. I heard and saw a lot of things in this first twelve months but found it hard to dispense with my “old ways” thanks to a number of previous tutors. The real message about how to trade the futures market did not materialize until the formation of Club 144. Enlisting as a foundation member, was I consider, the best decision regarding trading that I have made. It has been a hard slog working a ”normal” job and studying at the same time these last 18 months. However looking back now I feel the last 4 months have been my greatest period of enlightenment, I suppose the old saying “the penny finally dropped” would best describe it. Your approach to trading is I believe second to none and I like the many other members look to the closing 6 months of our Club to further develop and enhance our trading knowledge. By the way I now have the confidence, knowledge and trading plan to put all of this into practice. I intend to start trading this coming July. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge with us, it has been a tremendous experience.

This one is a little unusual because it comes from a Chinese student of mine. He is now seeing the light but it took years for him to realise. Now he is doing fine.

Hi Bryce,

Since I bought the WaveTrader software in '92, it took me 8 years to re-examine and realize the importance of time and price analysis.

When I joined the group two years ago and through the teachings of Bryce, I can understand what makes up a successful trader.

Through the real time teachings of Bryce and comments of other members, I can learn how to trade and how to prepare a trade plan and learn how to trade without risking for more than 15 points (3 ticks) of HSI futures.
Just like running a business, before I can make profits I have to control the cost of running this business.

Without this group, I cannot reach a day trader's vision.

Thank you Bryce to share your experiences and other members' contributions.

Warmest regards,
Edmund Tsang

Now Matt is a new student of mine but his progress and understanding of what I am doing puts him 30 years ahead in life.

Bryce,

My introduction to the futures markets was back in 1999 at the age of 22.  I studied different courses and read various books, but any success I had trading those strategies was purely LUCK (which lacked consistency)!  Every year my trading statements showed a loss but my enthusiasm never ceased due to the great potential the markets offered.

I purchased your books and joined Club144 in November 2001 hoping to get an introduction to the geometrical applications to the market, but encountered much more.  Everything took awhile to sink in, but in the past couple months I have realized the market is not totally random and an aggressive, consistent, and profitable trading approach with tight stops is possible.  The important thing is to recognize the signs and trade them with a tight stop.

I feel extremely fortunate for getting set in the right direction early and intend to make trading my career.  Your efforts have definitely made a lasting impact!

Thanks Bryce,

Bryce,
I'd like to offer my recommendation. I hardly ever post to Club144, but I have definitely learnt something. Thanks for sharing what u know.

I came to Club144 with some scepticism and distrust. I wanted to learn more about trading but wasn’t sure if Bryce was just another “make money from teaching traders” person. I now see that he is the “real deal” and is a VERY GOOD TRADER.

Marketing people thrash testimonials to “death”. Many people don’t believe them anymore.  But, even so, I’ve been moved to write this.

I think his latest book is going to be very, very good. A real “traders Manual”

The markets are a battle between buyers and sellers. This shows in the price patterns on a chart. But it is not quite as simple as that. Bryce showed me that there is also a battle between trader’s who trade in the different time frames, i.e., floor traders, day traders, intra-day swing traders, position traders, funds, commercials etc..

All these traders have different decision making points, which all together is the “flow of the market”. To me, this is the “psychology of trading” as opposed to “technical analysis”.

If you know where these different “decision making points” are, then you can see the logic and order in the markets. How the market behaves at these points tells us much.

Bryce’s new book shows all this and more, and how to trade from it. And just as important, he shows what it takes to be a “consistent” trader.

I’ll be recommending it to my friends.

Regards,

Bryce,

I've spent too much time trying to sum up my experience with your material and your e-groups, so I will just say the following:

Thank you for your brutally honest and accurate assessment of the Truth and Realities of trading.

Thank you for your generosity in truly sharing all that you know.

Bryce,
Been away on vacation and just getting caught up on all the farm work and with the emails.  Sorry I missed the chance to respond in your book.

I want to thank you for Club 144 and all that it has done for me. As you know, I am a farmer and have learned to adapt - thanks to you.  I am planning on trading the mini as soon as harvest ends as my source of income through the winter.  When I can, I love watching the real time action here in the group.

I can't wait for your new book and I plan on purchasing a few more of your other books as gifts to some of my friends who trade.

Your no-nonsense, straight forward approach has really got me on the right track.

Thanks again Bryce!
Eternally grateful,

Bryce,
Things are finally slowing down here on the farm to where I'm doing a little trading and watching the e-mini with the group. As far as testimonies go I've learned a lot since joining Club 144 and the one thing to me that is the absolute most important is using tight stops. Whether one is a beginner with little experience or someone with a lot of knowledge if they stick to low risk trading there won't be any of these horror stories of losing tens of thousands of dollars. Another thing that has impressed me is your level of integrity. When you say something that is the way it is...no mind games. You also are out to help people without having any self-serving ulterior motives. That fact is made clear by the low membership fee and your Club144 seminars that you do at cost.

Thanks for everything.

It was the November 2000 Los Angeles Seminar that brought me face to face with Bryce Gilmore and that changed my life forever…It is here that I learnt what trading is all about… It is here that I learnt that Trading is an art form and that Trading could be simple and as long as we keep it simple…He exposed me to…trade what you see and not what you think… He drilled in…trade the market not the forecast…He made me aware that trading is all about making money and nothing else…I came to think in terms of…did the money come into the pocket or did the money go out of it…the focus shifted from forecasting to making money…I was a nobody and he made a somebody out of me…he gave me an identity…If I am what I am in the field of Technical Analysis and Trading in India then its because of the influence of just one man and my guru…. I have a comment to make on this one because Prakash came all the way from India at a great cost to himself in Indian monetary terms. We were doing a simulated trading day session on a Friday and it was a choppy day. After a series of small losses I said to the guys that the market was not working for me and the only opportunity I could see was to sell a support if it broke it later in the day. Well it took until 3:35pm EST and then it came. The S&P500 fell 15 points going into the close and the trade was worth over $5000 which got back all the small losses and left the day profitable by about $3700. When the trade did arrive everyone was bored to death and expected me to just forget about it. When I was triggered into the trade I banged the table and yelled out and nearly scared poor Prakash to death as he was half asleep at the time. J))

There was a guy from Florida there who admitted to me he had a portfolio of stock worth $21 million and he had owned Qualcom at $400. As I was yelling at the market to fall down he went into a panic fit. To make it worse I said you could have held this short because it will continue down on Monday. Which it did.

Note:
In India it is important to have a guru a bit like in our society we always look for a mentor. I have hero’s myself but they are not people I can talk to, I can only attempt to do what I think they would have done.

I think the lesson Prakash learnt that day was to never give up until the market is closed.

They are still coming in:

Hello Bryce here's mine for what it's worth.

I have been following the trading of Bryce Gilmore for four years and I have found his practical and realistic approach to trading  the markets to be excellent. If you cannot trade and make money using his methods then you simply do not understand what he is doing, go back and do more study until you understand.

Every serious trader with an open mind that I have seen come to Bryce over the 4 years has become a better trader after some coaching from Bryce.

Bryce is one of the most honest guys in the business,

Bryce,

I have been a part of your group for about 6 month now.  Prior  to joining this group I thought I knew how to trade but how wrong I was, although I was trading profitably, I hardly ever used intra-day charts for any type of analysis and some times it used to take me two days to get out of a position, now I'm out in five minutes and changing position on a dime. You know my profitable trades are still the same but dollar wise my loses have gone down 80%, It’s not how many losing trades you have it's how much you lose that counts.

Watching you trade and write about it in real time (along with your books) was the missing link.  There are two types of people in this industry, Real Traders and impostors who try to teach people how to trade, Bryce you’re are out and out a trader.

I discovered Bryce's analysis on the web one day and was blown away. I was very fortunate that he started a group. There is no doubt that Bryce is the best analyst in the market, but for me his skills as a trader made the impact. I now have the confidence to look at a market and know:-

a) whether I want to participate or not, and
b) where I can enter with the least risk to my capital. These are choices I never had before, and they are critical to survival.

Bryce consistently delivered many patterns and techniques that work - and he did it online, real time, at all market stages. In June 2002 global markets are all plunging and the papers are full of headlines about the inadequacy of fund managers to look after your capital. Bryce has taught me to do it myself, he stopped me losing money,  that allowed me to stay in the game, the rest is all experience and hard work.

Bryce,
Being a part of WTD has been a priceless experience for me. I used to think that successful trading was a matter of finding the "Holy Grail", sitting back and watching the money roll in. Not only have you and WTD thoroughly disabused me of that idea, you have replaced it with an understanding of what it really takes to win: knowledge, discipline, hard work and for God's sake, common sense!

It's so clear to me now that one cannot learn to trade overnight because there are so many nuances to know, but that's exactly why the educational format of WTD has been so effective. By drilling in the basics while covering the unfolding of the markets in real-time, you have compressed what would have taken me years, if not decades to learn into a few short months. I'm amazed at how good I've gotten at "reading the SIGNS" these days and I attribute this directly to all of your real-time commentary, lessons and interaction with the rest of us in WTD.

Bryce, you're the real deal.

Thanks for everything,

I've learned quite a bit from Bryce and from this trading group and I'm finally becoming profitable. There is no doubt in my mind that this is what I'm meant to do.

Due to my limited time right now, I haven't been able to contribute to club144 as I 'd like, but that should change within the next month.

Hope this answers your questions.

Regards.
Julio.

Bryce,
Like most traders, I was in search of the elusive "Holy Grail" for cracking the markets since I first starting following the markets almost 30 years ago as a Finance Major in College. Since then I've read and seen just about ever major "technical  analysis" technique presented by all the self-proclaimed "gurus". As my Dad used to say " ... if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is ".  Unfortunately, like most people, I wanted to believe there was a easy ticket to making money.

After years of frustration, I was VERY FORTUNATE indeed,  to come across your work. You've helped me realize there is no  "HOLY GRAIL", just a lot of hard work, and some amazing geometry. I consider your work to be the "Rosetta Stone" for understanding the markets.  With it, a student has a "map" to "reading the signs " the market gives us every day.  As you like to say, "trade what you see". Until I discovered your work, I wasn't  understanding what I was seeing.  You’re the only person I know, who writes their books in "real-time", allowing a reader to get inside your head as the market unfolds. You "put your money where your mouth is" day after day!  Watching you trade in Club 144 and through your books, has truly been a  wonderful learning experience. Your generosity in sharing a lifetime of knowledge through your books and software will always be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for teaching me how to "Trade to Win".

Hi Bryce,
It may be too late for the epilogue, but here goes:
I "met" Bryce indirectly through a forum.  One poster made a few disparaging remarks about Bryce and since I thought the poster was an arrogant pompous ass, I figured Bryce might be an "OK" guy.  And, oh how he is!  The only definition of Bryce is "Bryce".  Those who know him know exactly what I mean!!!
Bryce has helped teach this old dog new tricks.  Old habits are hard to break, but with constant pounding on the head, old habits are broken and new ones are incorporated.  Sometimes it just takes a bigger stick.

I am successfully day trading thanks to Bryce.

If we are saying nice things about you now, just wait for your obituary!!!!

I first found Bryce’s early work about two years ago and was impressed with his extensive work on the fascinating ways in which markets follow consistent geometric and ratio-based patterns.  What was not clear to me, however, was exactly how to use these insights in day-to-day trading. I remained stuck in a traditional mindset of counting Elliot Waves and combining technical indicators into my “trading system”.

It was not till I joined  Club 144 that I began to appreciate how much Bryce’s trading style had moved beyond the foundations laid out in his earlier work.  Club 144 and his recent books focus on the art of reading the chart and trading what you see. Bryce is unique in generously providing the opportunity to learn from a master through hands-on, real-time trading examples. It takes work, lot’s of work. But eventually you begin to look at a chart differently, to listen to what it is telling you, and to consider and limit risk at all times. Perhaps most importantly, Bryce relentlessly teaches his students to let go of the ego traps that can keep us trading yesterday’s hopes and opinions rather than what the market is telling us today.

Bryce Gilmore has a style all his own, always interesting, often outrageous, but always worthwhile.

Bryce,

I was lucky enough to be here in Club 144.

What can be more open and candid than the author trade the e-mini day after day, in real time, on the net, in front of a group of experienced and learner would be traders, and with a passion at times close to violence explain in detail the how and why he is being successful. Nothing is more convincing that his methods work. Nothing more is needed than to put it all together in a book so we can go back time and again to take advantage of this knowledge.

Bryce,

Well, I'm grateful that we are given the opportunity to express our feelings about your method of teaching how to trade.

As I said before, I'm very thankful to you to share with us your discoveries (geometric ratios, etc.) and knowledge about the markets.
I have read a lot of books on trading and your books are the most informative. They may not be the easiest books to read though.
I have used your software (CycleTrader/WaveTrader)and I am very excited.  I'll be subscribing to Q-Charts soon when I get used to my increased assignments at work.

The information I'm learning from your posts (archives and current) is immeasurable.  And the amount we are paying is not much.  I believe I'm getting a great bargain.  Thank you!

Particular enlightenments that I have learned from you are:  (1) the price & time ratios of the waves of same degree, (2) the support & resistance levels (where to buy and where to sell), (3) close stop loss, (4) continuation patterns (rectangle, triangles, etc.), (5) trend (lower Highs) & (higher Lows).

Because I have a full time job, I can't do much day trading.  Your indicators work very well in the daily charts too.  I subscribe to paper price charts and did the analysis using your method.  I'm pleased with the outcome!

With your methods added to my basic knowledge of market analysis (COT, Elliott waves, O/I, etc.) gives me the "feeling of David" to face the "giant Goliath" markets.  I feel being blessed to have known
you and I look forward to own one of your Trade to Win books.

Thanks again,
Advoquita

I have been a member of the Club 144 for ~2 months now (6/28/02). And I have been trading on & off for a number of years.  It's only now that I feel more prepared to face the markets because of the knowledge & wisdom I'm learning from Bryce Gilmore.  I wished that I had known him before.  One of his super methods of teaching is that he is analysing the markets as they unfold. Isn't that amazing?  He is guiding us where to buy or where to sell before the points are hit.  And this is how the Trade To Win (his 6th book) is written.  I have enjoyed reading his drafts. I can't wait to have a copy once it is published.
What an opportunity for me to learn how to face the market as it is happening!
Surely, the name Bryce Gilmore will always be associated with the name of William Gann, the legendary trader and Ralph Elliott, who gave us the Elliott waves.

Sincerely,

I've known Bryce for approx. 4 years now and once you can get past his personality you will find a person that is genuinely out trying to help people. If you are looking for an easy way to make money put this book down now!! there is no easy way, but Bryce's methods are the closest thing to a money machine that I have seen. The 2 Greatest principles that Bryce has taught me is " keep a tight stop loss" and "Never get a fixed opinion of market direction".

I will always call Bryce a good friend, love him or hate him this guy can trade and teach. Now it's up to "YOU" to learn.

As a member of Club144 I can say with confidence that you have just purchased the best text available in regards to trading. The trading examples in this book were real time trades Bryce was executing as part of the teaching program to Club144 members.

As Bryce say’s "see it, believe it, trade it"

Thank You Bryce

Bryce ,

I was wondering what to say about the last year and a half.

Something like...

...This tough as nails Aussie Bryce has been the best teacher I have ever had. His classroom is a real time trading pit via Club 144.
His wealth of information is priceless . Bryce teaches a trade that a fine living could be found. No more breaking my back for a few sheckles.

Bryce is down to earth. All his teaching is for real. No star gazing here. I have learned to believe what I see because the chart is shouting at me. I have giving up predicting where the market is going, it's a new day every day and the traders via the intra-day charts are going to tell me what to do , so long as my head is screwed on right . The last year and a half has been roll up your sleeves, close stops, playing type trading for me.

Bryce has willingly shared his knowledge for mere pennies. No $5,000 fees here.
I have to add that Bryce has written two books during this time period with us and freely shared each chapter with all Club 144 members once he finished them. Bryce wrote these two books on trading in real time as the market dictated. Bryce taught me how to analyse the market over the daily and weekly charts in his first three books, but these last two books have taught me how to make a living.

Thanks Bryce,

Well this picture says lost. Took my days pay and am taking the wife and kids to the park.

This has been a profitable week.

What I think:

Dear Bryce

In the time that I have been involved with you, I have been reminded that there is an extreme amount of bullshit out here in the traders world. This is not the case with Gilmore. You have written or spoken the honest to GOD facts on most issues in the trading arena and in the personality traits of a trader. I know it jacks you up that I'm not actively involved, but my education is not complete as yet on this subject matter.

A shame that you’re retiring from this endeavour, that sucks!

With Great Respect

This one is from a friend of mine – I have 9 or 10 paintings of his adorning my office and bedroom walls. I have put a lot of effort into Richard but it has worked. He is a great artist maybe now he can make some money.

I have known Bryce Gilmore for 4 years and consider him a good friend. Since the beginning of Club 144, I realized that although I had achieved a reasonable standard of technical analysis using time, price, pattern and trend, I wasn't a trader. And I wanted to be a trader.  The 18 months that  Club 144 has been operational has seen Bryce trading live and posting as he traded (no mean feat.)  He followed this up with summaries of the day including illustrated charts and worksheet commentary. Such real-time education has been priceless as far as I am concerned. I arrived at studying technical analysis at a mature age and, given my accounting background, it has been difficult for me to loosen up and let my mind be flexible to what the market was saying.

I am now trading profitably full-time and this is purely because of the no-bullshit, lay-it-on-the-line approach to trading and, in fact, to life that Bryce has brought to this site.

The fact that the current book is being written as we trade with Bryce during the e-mini sessions is a tribute to his masterful trading and  teaching skills.

I feel privileged to have been a member of Club 144 and to know Bryce. It has also been a pleasure to meet and make lasting friendships with other members of the Club.

Richard Lane, Kelso, Queensland.

Thankyou very much for teaching us Bryce. I was like a lost blind man before Club144 and TWAE. We are enjoying life so much more now – very little stress – all because I listen to you.

I am looking forward to your new book – the excerpts were tremendous.

1st July 2002

I have been studying under the tuition of Bryce Gilmore for the last three years, after spending a considerable amount of money with another so called trading educator (SITM).

Bryce provides a what you see is what you get approach to try to educate his followers in becoming successful traders without doing their dough.

I for one have only become successful as a trader for no other reason than the teachings of Bryce.

If you would like to discuss any of the above matters personally please feel free to contact me.

Bryce,

A good coach saves us a lot of time and money, and leads us to the road of success. Thank you Bryce for sharing your knowledge with us and pointing us to the right road. Joining the Club 144 was a short cut to success by following your thinking and feeling about the market in a real time manner and to learn how to trade with limited risk.  But I know that we have to do our own work and exercise the tools you teach until we master the concepts and can use them at will. A good coach is one who will get angry when we are lazy, but does not leave us alone helplessly even though we are behind, but at least we should show that we are eager to learn and ask for help. Thank you Bryce. Thank you very much.

I really appreciate this one because Andrew had been studying technical analysis and Gann work for years before I met him.

I came to meet Bryce knowing a good bit about the way markets work but having trouble making money with my knowledge, but what Bryce has been able to do for me is build a usable frame work around what I've already learnt and added some new important points into what is now a comprehensive and powerful platform which can be used in any market and any time frame.

The real beauty of this knowledge is it gives you confidence to keep at it until you make a success and for that I'm very grateful.

Bryce,

As you probably know, I went through a few different mentors while supposedly learning to trade, and spending a small fortune on courses, lectures, books and software.

Fortunately a couple of years ago I was introduced to your methods of analysis and trading, and have not looked back since.

I sincerely thank you for the time, effort and knowledge that you have given me over the years through your books, seminars and Wavetrader/Cycletrader software.

I still have my losses while trading obviously, BUT at least they now are a minute percentage (dollar-wise) of what they used to be.

If anyone had to ask for advice on where to get knowledge or information because they wanted to start trading, I would tell them :

Forget the rest  - just go to the  "BBG"  he’s the  BEST.

Kind regards,

Tony Fletcher.

Thanks Tony I know you are a bit part time with everything else you have going on, but I suppose you don’t really need the money.

I have another one here that deserves being included because I have met Marcus and he only needs a bit of confidence to succeed. Personally I think he has made too much of a big deal out of trading and that has held him back. Now I think my message of keep it simple is getting through.

In the early 90’s I experienced a few trades that I would rather someone else had. The results were shocking. This caused me to look for a mentor who:
· knew how to trade and derived most of his income from trading and
· was prepared to share that knowledge.
Bryce Gilmore has helped me immeasurably with my trading and understanding of the markets. Some of the many things from Bryce include:
· trade with tight stops
· trade what you see not the forecast
· trade set ups with confirmation
· how to read a chart in real time
· the relationships between hard work, faith in your methods, confidence, ability to act and consistent results.
The trading wisdom in Bryce’s books is all you need to know to become a consistently profitable trader and analyst of market trends.

This one came in from a student in Sydney who I have never met and it was a little over whelming.

From Mark Ruaro:
Imagine your mate knows more about technical analysis than Gann or Elliott. What if he was also a very successful commodity trader who has written numerous texts on analysis and trading and written his own computer program to test his theories. Imagine he has traded one thing or another for his entire working life.

Then, imagine if you will, that this mate will email you every day with his daily preparation and tell you exactly what he is thinking and doing as the market moves along in real time, he shows you entries based on logic, he uses tight entry stops, he chases his profits with running stops and he makes money.

Because he is a mate, he doesn’t want anything from you but to see you succeed and become a winner. By teaching you his mind stays focused on the job at hand, as a result his overall trading improves, everyone benefits.

Bryce Gilmore is the bloke I’m talking about. He is the 100% genuine article, listen to him, follow his methods, you will be a success.

Thankyou Bryce yours sincerely,

Mark Ruaro, Sydney, Australia.

Bryce,
I originally traded in the eighties on the advice of "others" and I new nothing and was flying blind. Of course I lost what was for me a lot of money. I no longer trust brokers or "Money Managers".

I am now trading by doing my own analysis and putting in long hard hours of study.

After over three years of hard work I feel that am still just learning the trade. Being exposed to Bryce's work has opened up an inside run for me "one out one back" and I would like to thank Bryce for his generosity in sharing years of hard work.

He has a tough outlook that can also be fun and that’s a rare mixture. My experience tells me that his no nonsense approach is the right approach because we are actually playing in a tough game that tramples the unwary and the unprepared quicker than you can blink so he is actually being kind when he is being tough and I appreciate that.

Many thanks,
Kieren Turner, Australia.

I HAVE TO INCLUDE THIS ONE - IT IS FROM A FRIEND I MET ON TWO OCCASIONS AT SEMINARS IN LA.

I met Rod who is a very successful large farm owner from Nebraska – he runs a family business and a good one. He is also one of the best guys I have ever met.

Bryce:
Thanks a million for the examples.  I have been struggling with several of the routines (I had not upgraded when the XABCD discussion was taking place) and this sets me straight.  This is a powerful tool and I appreciate the opportunity to be able to have it.  The last 3 years since owning your books and Cycle-Trader and now with the ability to analyse intra day, brings all of the study and experience into focus from the last 25 years.  My hat is off to you.  The internet has brought me information, but one of the things that I value most today is the relationship with you, and this site.

You are one great Australian.

I do not post often, but I read every word.  Your lessons in real time in the last six weeks in the E-Mini have been invaluable as well as the excerpts you share from TTW.

Weather has been warm and the wind has been blowing here.  We are about a week away from soybean harvest in Nebraska and for that matter I am sure in many other parts of the corn - soybean belt as well.  Corn harvest will also begin in our area in the next 10 days.  My guess is that our crop will be some under our 10 year average.
Won't know until we get the combine in the field. (Rod’s 10 year Soybean  average is just over 60 bushels per acre),

Best regards,
Rod (Gangwish), Nebraska, USA
Another recent one…

Bryce,
Thank you for all your commentary and tutoring. I read everything you post and my way of thinking has come more and more over to what you are teaching.
Yours Sincerely,

Gerald has been a steadfast member of the Club144 group and religiously for months he has provided us with updated charts, COT, and volume and open interest reports for the COFFEE complex. A job well done Gerald.

Last one….

Bryce,
I want to thankyou again for taking the time to teach people, I have learned a lot about how and what to focus on, and what kind of attitude to have.
Hope you enjoy your newfound time, I can’t thank you enough for the experience of Club 144.
Best regards,

I have many more testimonials from other students and professional traders who have benefited from my teaching, but it is not necessary to publish anymore here.

These guys have spoken and they are all genuine people. I didn’t invent them, I appreciate that they have benefited that is all.

I am a hard taskmaster at the best of times, and it takes someone with the guts to be a trader to get past my personality of intolerance for stupidity. These guys could all get into the 10% who win because they are working at it or already have done it.

I wish them every success in the future for having the intelligence to listen, the Club 144 experience has been a good one overall and these guys have had to put up with my rantings and ravings for a long time. Sometimes I have abused the living daylights out of some of them – just to make them learn – but they have learnt. And nothing succeeds like success – you only have to read what they say to understand my profound effect on them.
