The problem with most online systems is that they do not allow you to take quick measurements of how the market is unfolding and if you rely on a calculator you miss so many things. For this reason I have a set of standard tools that are quickly executed and miraculously information you missed becomes available. I have found it increases the analysis power of the original software by about a 100 times when you are trading short-term. It is amazing what you find when you start breaking the market down into minutes rather than days.
The market moves along like it's doing a dance in all degrees of price movement, the beat is an ABC, ABC, ABC, ABC type of movement and all the small waves relate to each other just the same as they do in the big picture, sometimes even better. My trading record has improved dramically since I moved to this approach.
The CSV-QCharts module is controlled from the front Menu of the WaveTrader but requires a standard set up procedure to be used to operate it.
1. Users must create a folder (C:\QCDATA) on their computer
to download the CSV export data files into.
2. File names
must be kept in the DOS convention, ie., leading names must be up to 8 letters
only.
3. Length of Export files must be 500 records or
less.
That is about all and then all the standard WaveTrader routines are available on the intraday data.
If you use the QCharts intraday system you can download data from your current window into the C:\QCDATA folder and have the CSV WaveTrader module running in another window, just tab across and go straight to work.
It may be possible to generate the same format data from other systems, if so it will work the same.
